Instruments

For information on how to hold the instruments, see here.

Violin is the highest voice in the stringed instruments. They often have higher and faster music to play than the other instruments.
Viola is played exactly like the violin but is a few inches larger.  It is famous for the low, rich voice that often plays the harmony parts in the orchestra.
Cello is about the size of a guitar and the performer must sit in a chair to play it.  It is the tenor voice of the orchestra and often has lyrical melodies that students love.
Double Bass is the lowest voice in the orchestra instruments and probably the most versatile instrument.  It is found in orchestra, rock bands, country music, and jazz bands to name a few.
Harp adds beauty and character to the orchestra. Students must be independently motivated and have had a minimum of 2 year previous piano study.
